Holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and BSc in Chemical Engineering; over 40 years of experience in industry and international organizations, mostly in senior management positions. He managed a chemical complex site consisting of seven chemical plants with  more than 250 employees.  Managed plant operations, plant turnarounds, commissioning and start-up, process engineering, project design, quality control, R&D, HSE, production planning, procurement, logistics and supply chain; experience in project management of multidisciplinary engineering CAPEX projects: chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, oil & gas sectors. As an Inspection team Leader of OPCW conducted inspections on more than a hundred chemical industries and chemical weapons facilities worldwide, in more than forty countries; experience in Process Safety Management, Chemical Process Hazards Analysis, Process Risk Management, including HAZOP studies; experience in project management of EC Funding Projects. Fluent in written and spoken Portuguese (native) and English and basic knowledge of French, Spanish and Italian.
